The Bernard Museum at Temple Emanu-El wanted to create an exhibition telling Barbra Streisand's story from a different angle. A collector in Palm Springs lent the museum a vast quantity of Streisand artifacts, including her yearbook photograph at Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn, her beaded gown from Funny Girl, and a video of her Saturday Night Live appearance.
I worked with the museum curator to determine placement of the objects. We also created two interactive exhibition features: a wall of mirrors, and, in collaboration with Aaron Parach Productions, a soundproof karaoke booth with a mixing table where visitors could distort and adjust one another's voices while singing classic along with Streisand’s most popular hits.
The exhibition was featured in the New York Post.

“I had been wanting to work with Johanna on an exhibition for a few years, and when we decided to mount an exhibition about Barbra Streisand it was great timing. Johanna’s approach brought us just the right amount of whimsy, clean lines and a keen eye that was the perfect fit for the subject matter. Her creativity generated many great ideas, including some high tech features like our recording studio! I could not have done this exhibition without her. I look forward to collaborating with Johanna in the future.
